Why This Library Exists
Originally written for real bedtimes:- These stories began as something to read at the end of the day, when children are tired but still curious. They're written to hold attention without dragging on and to feel complete by the time you reach the last line.
Short enough to read in one go:- Most stories can be finished in a single sitting. Ideal for any time of the day, bedtime, calm moments or children who prefer stories they can fully experience without needing to stop halfway through.
For both children and teenager's:- Some stories are light, funny and imaginative. Others are more thoughtful and suited to older children and teenagers. The aim is to offer something that grows with the reader.
Written to be clear and easy to follow:- The language is straightforward and natural, helping children stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed or discouraged.
A personal collection that continues to grow:- New stories are added over time. What began with a few stories for my grandchildren has gradually become a larger collection that others can return to whenever they like.
All of the short stories for kids in this virtual library were written by me, a real Grandad here in the UK. I first began writing stories simply for my grandchildren, as a way to entertain them at bedtime and it gave them something magical to look forward to.
For Everyone
I write for all children and teenagers, who enjoy reading and want to escape and be free. My stories are full of adventure and fun and open the door to many new worlds. Today, my stories are read by children, teenagers, educators, parents and grandparents all over the world.
The Magic
What started as a few simple stories quickly grew into something more. Their joy, excitement, laughter and curiosity inspired me to keep writing. Soon, their school began sharing the stories, and before long, other families discovered them too.

My mission remains the same as it was on day one: to help children discover the magic of stories, the excitement of reading and the endless possibilities of imagination.

Encouraging children to read, doesn't have to be a struggle any more. When stories are written with care and clarity, reading becomes something children look forward to. Not something they are forced to.
